
Jane Venie
JANE BROGGER
April 25, 1940 - December 29, 1991
Jane was born in Minneapolis, the daughter of
Harold J. and Susan Freeman Venie. She grew up in
Fargo, North Dakota and graduated from Fargo High
School in 1958. She then attended the University
of Colorado at Bolder where she was a member of the
Alpha Phi International Sorority. She graduated
with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary
Education in 1962 and began teaching in the
Bloomington, Minnesota School District.
Jane and Steve Brogger were married on June
26, 1963, and have three children, Neil, Geniene,
and Karl. They moved to the rural Dennison area in
1973 where Jane could enjoy her life-long love of
riding and showing horses. She earned numerous
trophies for her skills. She also enjoyed
traveling and collecting works of art.
Jane is survived by her husband Steve, her
daughter Geniene, her sons Neil and Karl, and many
friends. She is remembered by her family as being
a very caring, giving person, always ready to put
forth extra effort to help, someone who never said
a harsh word against others. During her year-long
illness she worried more about others than herself.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that
memorials may be designated to the Northfield
Hospice Program, Vang Lutheran Church, the American
Heart Association, or other charity.

Leonard Wallace Viets, Jr.
Weatherford, Texas
PARKER COUNTY - Leonard Wallace Viets, Jr., 71, of Weatherford passed away Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012 in the local hospital. He was born March 2, 1940 in Fargo, N.D. to Leonard Wallace Viets, Sr. and Rachel Emily (Boyd) Viets. Leonard retired from Lockheed Martin after 40 years of employment as a tool design engineer. He enjoyed gardening and woodworking as well as fishing and lapidary.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Sharoyn; children, Teresa Domanick and husband, Michael, of The Bahamas, Tawnya Viets of Tehachapi, Calif. and Timothy Viets and wife, Jean, of Wilsonville, Ore.; sister, Delores Brevik of Newbury Park, Calif.; and two granddaughters Emily and Madeleine.
Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Jewel Waalen Bailow, 62, Thompsonville, Mich., formerly Fargo, died Friday, April 18 2003, in Monson Medical Center, Traverse City, Mich.
Jewel Waalen was born Feb. 16, 1941, in Fargo. She graduated from Fargo Central High School in 1958. In 1990, she married Harold Bailow in Florida. They lived in Thompsonville, Mich.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Jeffrey, Minneapolis; a brother, Lloyd (Nancy), Pelican Rapids, Minn.; a sister, Gayla Sievertson, Apple Valley, Minn.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday from noon to 2 at Bennett Barr Funeral Home, Beulah, Mich.
Funeral: Tuesday at 2 in the funeral home.

Mary Weible

Elizabeth Darrow Weible Aug. 8, 1940 - Sept. 5, 2008 Liz Weible left her body to join Baba at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2008. She was spiritually prepared and peaceful. At her side were her two children, Eric Kjorlien and Kirsten Ingram. She is also survived by daughter-in-law Susan Kjorlien and grandchildren, Stephanie and Scott Kjorlien, and son-in-law, Wally Ingram; and grandchildren, Jack and Nick Ingram. Liz was devoted follower of Siddha Yoga for more than 20 years, which provided her with the spiritual strength to survive many challenges without complaint. Liz was an avid lover and supporter of the arts. In her youth and young adulthood she was an accomplished ice skater and modern dancer. In later years, she served on the City of Austin Dance Panel and volunteered for many local artists. She cherished her family and was a devoted daughter, caring for her elderly parents until they passed away. She was a regular swimmer at Barton Springs until the last months of her life. Harold G. Wheeler, Jr
The funeral for Harold G. Wheeler, Jr, 50, 1541 8th St. South, Fargo will be at 2 Saturday in First United Methodist Church, Fargo, with burial in West Concord, Minn. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 this evening in Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo. He died Wednesday.
Mr. Wheeler was born April 6, 1940, in Mandan, N. D. He grew up and attended school in Fargo, graduating from Fargo Central High School in 1958. He earned a bachelor's degree in business economics from North Dakota State University and worked in banking finance and marketing in St. Paul, Minn; Kindred, N. D.; and several Fargo firms.
He is survived by his fiancee, Mary Linderman Jurjans, Moorhead; his parents, Harold G. and Hulda B. Wheeler, Fargo; and two sisters, Joyce (Mrs. R. R.) Garrett, Bloomington, Minn; and Patricia (Mrs. James) Winters, Roseville, Minn.

Richard Whiting

Richard Owen "Dick" Whiting
May 12, 1940-February 8, 2012, Houston, TX
Dick grew up in Fargo and attended Fargo Central High School (class of 1958). He attended Carlton College in Northfield, MN; North Dakota State University, and ASU, Tempe, AZ. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration with honors.
An accomplished musician, Dick was a state champion drummer in high school and an outstanding pianist.
His first job was at the family owned Whiting's Office Equipment in Fargo. This was followed by a successful career in food service management that took him coast to coast before retiring to Livingston, TX. He spent his summers at Pelican Hills RV Park on Pelican Lake, MN. There he would visit with dear friends and enjoy fishing on the lake.
Along with fishing, Dick enjoyed golf, handball, cards, and quality time with family and friends. He is remembered for his generosity, gentleness, and heartfelt concern for others. He always brought light and laughter to every person fortunate enough to have known him, and will be dearly missed.
Dick is survived by his son, Richard B. Whiting and wife Kara, daughter Mona Whiting, sisters Ann Ludwig, Jane Helinger and Pat Meads, and many loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in July at Pelican Lake in conjunction with a Whiting family reunion.

Waneda Anderson, 59, Elim Care Center, Fargo, N.D., died Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, in the care center.
Waneda Wilson, also known as Willie, was born Dec. 16, 1940, in Glenwood, Minn., where she attended school. In 1953 she moved to Fargo, where she attended school for three years. She graduated from St. Marys' of the Mount, Helena, Mont. On Nov. 28, 1959, she married
Marlyn Anderson in Fargo, where they lived.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Kevin (Joann) Anderson, Port Angeles, Wash.; a daughter: Kimberly (John) Tilton, Poulsbo, Wash.; her mother, Helen Wilson, Starbuck, Minn.; a brother, Warren (Sharon), Storm Lake, Iowa; two sisters, Loretta (Tom) Hodges, Missoula, Mont., Marlis (Richard) Tvedt, Lakeville, Minn.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation: One hour before the funeral in the funeral home.
Funeral: Tuesday at 11 in Hanson-Runsvold Funeral Home, Fargo.
Graveside service: Tuesday at 3 in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Starbuck.

Waneda "Willie" WILSON Anderson
Waneda Anderson, 59, died
Feb. 11, 2000 at Elim Home, Fargo, ND
Waneda Wilson, also known as Willie,
was born Dec. 16, 1940, in Glenwood, Mn.
In 1953 she moved to Fargo and attended
Agassiz JHS, Fargo Central High for two
years, and graduated from St. Marys in Helena, Mt..
In 1959 she was united in marriage with
Marlyn ('55) Anderson in Fargo where they lived.
Although disabled with MIS much of her adult
life, she was an accomplished artist and had
many showings in the FM area. Her main love
was to be at the lake with family and friends where
she enjoyed water skiing, bass fishing at 4AM,
and long distance swimming.
She is survived by her husband, a son and
daughter, four grandchildren, alumni sisters
Loretta and Marlis, and brother Warren (the last
class to graduate from FHS.).

Lawrence Wong

Lawrence Daniel Wong, 70, of Phoenix, Arizona, went to be with the Lord on August 17, 2008. Born on September 8, 1937 in Toi Shan, China, he emigrated to the U.S. at the age of 16 and lived in Fargo, ND. He graduated from Morehead State College with Bachelor of Arts in design technology. In 1970, he moved to Phoenix, AZ to live closer to his sisters and other family members. He met and married his wife, Eliza, in Hong Kong in 1973. They raised their children in the home he proudly helped build himself. He proudly worked for Maricopa County in the Flood Control District for 19 years and retired in 1997. He was an active member of First Chinese Baptist Church for more than 40 years. Lawrence was an avid traveller and a lifelong musician, playing violin in the Scottsdale Symphony for many years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Eliza, children Alan (Heather) and Mariana Liu (Patrick), granddaughters Avery Liu and Sabrina Wong, sisters Ming Ong, Lillian Dang (Luke), Rose Ramond (Paul), godson Stephen Chan and his family, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation services will be on August 22 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at A. L. Moore Grimshaw Mortuary, 710 W Bethany Home Rd. Memorial services will be on August 23 at 11 a.m. at First Chinese Baptist Church, 4910 E Earll Dr. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Chinese Baptist Church.
